IRIS Terminology

Application to Application

Short for Client Application to Server Application.

Magtax is the Client.  IRIS is the Server.

 

UTID

Unique Transmission ID.  We create a UTID for each filing we generate.  The UTID is used througout IRIS for tracking.

 

Receipt ID

The Receipt ID is an ID assigned by the IRIS system to your submission when the upload is accepted.  The sets the date and time of the filing.

 

Full User ID - FUID

This is a user ID used for connecting to the IRIS authentication system. See Getting an IRIS Full User ID.

 

Session

A communication Session is the time at which an authentication token is valid.  Approximately 12 minutes.  Starting a session take just a few seconds. Establishing a Session requires a valid Client and a valid User.  The on-screen Session Status window keeps up to date.  If the Window is Closed, the Session is ended.

 

Client, ClientID

This is us.  This is the Magtax software.
Magtax is the Client Application Software - Client for short.
Magtax ClientID is: a93917e6-1476-4d66-861f-f5622108b1cf

This is needed when you grant consent and get the Full User ID.

 

User

This is you.  This is the specific authorized user.

 

Submission

This is an upload of data. A Submission can contain more than 1 type of form and can contain more than 1 payer.  Submissions must be made in sequence.  Out of sequence will be rejected.

 

Transmitter

This is an entity role that submits forms for 1 or more Payers.

 

Issuer

This is an entity role that is a payer and only submits forms for itself. We recommend using the Transmitter Role.

 

TCC Transmitter Control Code

This is a code that authorizes (the user and role) which functions can be performed (Portal, A2A).  This is assigned to an Issuer or a Transmitter.  See Getting an IRIS TCC.

 

Test Communication

All users are required to perform a Test communication before forms can be submitted in the Production system.
